Lizann qualified from Queens University, Belfast in 2008 and moved to Edinburgh to further her training, working in a maxillofacial unit in Queens Margarets hospital, Dunfermline. During this time she completed a diploma to become a member of the faculty of dental surgeons. Lizann bought the practice in September 2015 following a number of years working as an associate dentist in and around the Edinburgh area. Lizann has a gentle and caring approach to her work and is always striving to further her professional development. She has recently completed a post graduate diploma in implant dentistry at Newcastle university and is enjoying now being able to offer implant treatment to patients in the practice. When she finds some free time she enjoys keeping fit, participating in triathlons and taking her dog for hill runs.
After qualifying from Edinburgh University in 1987, David spent some time in England before joining the practice. David is a very experienced dentist who enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. His kind and caring approach to dentistry means he has a very loyal patient base which tend to include many generations of the same family. Outside of work he is has a busy life with his wife and four children, however does like to squeeze in a game of golf from time to time!
Luz qualified as a dentist in 2006 from Cayetano Heredia University in Peru. She moved to the UK soon after graduating and has experience working in dental practices both England and Scotland. She recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry from the University College London. Luz is a very passionate and enthusiastic dentist who loves challenging aesthetic and cosmetic cases. In her spare time Luz can be found bellydancing and horseriding.
Karen is the longest standing member of staff. She became a dental nurse in 1987 and has loved her job ever since. She is always available to offer friendly advice and great service. Karen has taken on more of a managerial role within the practice in recent years however can still on occasion be found keeping her skills up to date in the surgery.
She also manages to find time to partake in voluntary work with the elderly and enjoys relaxing in her yoga class, swimming pool or in the kitchen cooking.
Emma qualified as a dental nurse in January 2017 after working for a number of years as a trainee dental nurse. She is an enthusiastic member of staff who loves a new challenge. Emma enjoys keeping her skills and continuing professional development up to date. Emma’s friendly personality helps to put patients at ease in the dental envirnoment. In her spare time Emma is kept very busy looking after her puppy and enjoys going for long walks with her.
Joanna is currently our trainee dental nurse and is attending college weekly to further her skills. She has displayed a great enthusiasm for dentistry since she started and we are confident she will excel in her training. She is always very caring and attentive to all of our patients needs. Outside of dentistry her interests include keeping fit, especially swimming and spending time with her family and friends.
Julie qualified as a dental nurse in 2012. She has recently taken on the role of head dental nurse in the practice which keeps her busy. She is an extremely organised member of staff and we are looking forward to having her skills on board. Julie is very sensitive to nervous or anxious patients and her friendly face in surgery helps to put patients at ease. Outside of dentistry she is a keep fit fanatic and regularly attends boot camp classes. She loves to challenge herself and has completed many races to raise funds for charity.
